The Della Corte refuge is an ancient alpine shelter with a chapel attached, situated at 1,250 metres above sea level in Val Gerola.
The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and informal, ideal for those who love the mountainside and simplicity.
The relatively low altitude and easy access by car are great advantages for elderly people or people with heart or respiratory problems.
The refuge is sunny even in the winter period and offers an extraordinarily wide panorama overlooking all of Val Gerola and the Rhaetian Alps.
In the surrounding area, in springtime, it is possible to find roe-bucks, deer, foxes, hare, marmots and higher up , chamois, the real kings of the rocks.
For bird-watching enthusiasts there is a great variety of birds, among which the wood-grouse, the symbol of the Regional Nature Park 'Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi' in which the refuge is located.
Food: in the refuge you can savour typical local dishes and products such as pizzoccheri, taroz, polenta taragna or concia, spare ribs, oven-cooked shin of pork, tasty mushroom flavoured stews…
Naturally enough the valtellinese wines, locally produced cured meats, precious cheeses from our valley like Casera and Bitto, pies, sweet and savoury for abundant snacks are not to be missed.
One must not miss the opportunity of tasting the famous "Homo Selvadego" pizza prepared by Mara's capable hands using only locally produced ingredients such as low-fat cheese (substituting the more classical mozzarella), salami, bacon and wild Valley ceps.
The Welcome: warm welcoming rooms are available, each with it's own private bath and shower and central heating.

The landlords of "Rifugio della Corte" are "SICK" for ski touring (Mara) and Telemark skiing (Corrado).
They invite all the fans, of this wonderful way to go to the mountain in winter, to visit them for wonderful trips in a valley that offers more than the others, snow evermore suitable for skiing on with extraordinary itinerarys.
Corrado invites all the lovers of Telemark, who really love skiing off the slopes and go up with climbing skins, for unforgettable trips.

Open from:
- October to March: week-end and holidays (weekdays with reservation)
- April, May, June and September: closed on Tuesdays.
- July and August : open all the time.

Pets: Mara and Corrado, convinced mountain and animal lovers, willingly welcome your small inseparable pets (dogs, cats, ferrets…)
Shuttle service: for those who do not wish to drive on unfamiliar mountain roads a shuttle service is available.
