Cercino (mt.

The loneliness of the place returns to Cercino incredible charm, surrounded
by a plateau where you can still see animals grazing.
Dimensioned for the first time in a document dated 1049, is suspended
between a past Cercino agriculture, which traces remain in rural settlements,
where you can still see remnants of old mills and ovens, and today that
new homes.
Scattered throughout the votive chapels, which may also be encountered
along the mule trails that connect the country with the surroundings.
Left the country, characterized by the Parish of St. Michael and the Church
of Our Lady of Mercy, of great artistic interest, you can take the mule
track that leads to maggengo Bioggio at an altitude of 771 meters.
A nice walk which also allows a stopover in San Juan de Bioggio, where
the ancient church of Santa Maria still holds a small painting by Peter
Ligari eighteenth century, the "Madonna with the foot St. Francis
holding baby Jesus."
