THE AGRITURISMOThe agriturismo “Le Case Dei Baff” is family run and stands at the foot of Alpi Retiche. It is an ancient mill, once abandoned, and now well repaired. The entire building, with its balanced mixture of wood and granite, creates a cosy and warm atmosphere that recalls the past in the guest’s mind. We passionately and naturally cook a lot of typical and local meals, and we supply 16 simple well furnished rooms, all unsuited, fitted with bathroom and tv and wi-fi. OUR PRODUCTS
We are deeply involved with passion in this job. All our meals are home-made and typical of the valtellina tradition. Our menu is made of: ï‚Ÿ first of all our salami served with fresh cheese mixed up with jam. Then Tarozz(a particular mixture of [More info] potatoes, butter, onions, cheese and beans), and Sciatt: little fried balls of buckwheat flour, with inside hot cheese.
ï‚Ÿ Our first courses are: Pizzoccheri the most famous food in this area, (a buckwheat pasta with cheese, butter, garlic, savoy (cabbage)and potatoes); Tagliatelle (noodles with deer ragout) and Barley soup.
ï‚Ÿ The main courses are: Roast of veal, Costine al Lavecc (pork ribs cooked in a particular stone pot), and Rabbit stew.
ï‚Ÿ To finish..our desserts: several and various home cakes and nut biscuits.
ATTRACTIONS:
Our agriturismo is situated in the middle of Valtellina. So you’ll have the chance to exploit several opportunities to ameliorate your holiday.
In our area you can find several spots and valleys to visit:
ï‚Ÿ Valmasino, where you’ll find one of the most beautiful rocky face of Europe, a very famous destination for freeclimbers; in Valmasino you can either hike or reach high altitudes, surrounded by gorgeous natural landscapes. Also Mello and Masino valleys are really special: the first one characterized by a wide highland and the second by the presence of a spa.
ï‚Ÿ Valmalenco (30 km far from our agriturismo, near Sondrio) is the perfect area to practice winter sports such as the downhill skiing or the cross-country skiing. On the other hand, during the summer, it is a much desired destination for those fond of trekking.
ï‚Ÿ 10 km far from Morbegno you’ll find Valgerola: an astonishing place either during the winter or the summer.
ï‚Ÿ The line valley is maybe preferred by those who love promenades in the nature or sports like bicycle and fishing, or rafting, canyoning and quad ( for those more reckless).
ï‚Ÿ Morbegno: (a few kilometres far form us) it’s a little ancient town where you’ll find several catholic churches, ancient mansions, aristocratic villas, museums, and cellars to sample Valtellina’s wines. In Autumn there’s also a very famous show: the Bitto fair.
ï‚Ÿ If you want to move farther (100 km from our agriturismo more or less), you can reach some little ancient gorgeous villages like Bormio, Livigno, and S.Moritz. Last but not least, on the southest part of Valtellina, there is the Como Lake where you can do ferry excursions, or also surfing and swimming.
THE FARM
The farm was first established in 1970 and completely at our guests disposal.
Once we made only milk, then we specialized in meat trade. Actually we breed calves, pigs, ovine, goats, sheep, rabbits and hens. You can also find in our farm the Haflinger horses.
Dealing with the agriculture, we produce hay that we use to breed our cattle, and from our garden, we produce vegetables for our cooking .
Furthermore, since the 2007, thanks to a good restoring of an old vineyard situated in the heart of our village, we produce wine. It's a nebbiolo Doc, perfectly fit for our cuisine.

WHERE WE ARE
“Le Case Dei Baff” stands in the middle of Valtellina, between Sondrio and Morbegno.
To reach it you have to get the main road(Statale 38)and then, once arrived in Ardenno, turn to the road that leads to Valmasino and go on just a hundreds of metres, until the first cross-roads, where you’ll see the Agriturismo in front of you.
