The La Brace Hotel & Restaurant has been recognized as an “Historical Activity” by the Lombardy Region.

The establishment is located in Forcola (So), 5 minutes from Morbegno on the SS38.

La Brace is an old farmstead surrounded by countryside, with the Alps as a backdrop. The hotel building preserves the farmhouse’s rustic style, typical of the 1800s. Elements from the past have been carefully and harmoniously restored in order to preserve the history of the building, while rendering it functional and comfortable.

 The Restaurant

The smaller rooms (salette) and the taverns in the restaurant are the old stone cellars. They are ideal for a dinner among friends or a romantic evening for two. The old ‘big barrel’, transformed into a private dining room offers the possibility of a unique experience. For larger dinners or banquets it is of course possible to reserve bigger rooms suited to every occasion. During the high season, it is possible to enjoy an aperitif or a drink in  the peaceful and relaxing Giardino delle Rondini (Swallow Garden)

The cuisine is the real forte at La Brace. The dishes are all based on natural ingredients, cooked in a traditional style: homemade bread, pasta, barbecued meat (alla brace in Italian), and cakes. This choice of retro cuisine drawing on the Valtellina’s traditional  produce and recipes has brought old dishes back to the table that had progressively disappeared from the menus of other local restaurants

The dishes we propose range from revamped recipes to typical Italian regional cuisine. Our barbecued meat, in particular, continues to be particularly appreciated by our clients.

The La Brace restaurant is part of the “Food Circle” and also proposes dishes made with fair trade ingredients. It thus follows a philosophy which, together with Slow Food products, keeps “tasty and genuine” traditions alive.

The Hotel:

Our 28 country rooms, furnished in wood, are warm, comfortable and well equipped (colour TV with SKY and PayTv, fridge-bar, telephone, free internet wireless connection). Room service is available with 3 different menus for a surprising romantic evening.
